MOTIA turned into BOUGAINVILLEA

These necklaces were originally my motia pieces, but a few of them got pink stains. Throwing them away didn't feel right so, I took them to a natural dye club hosted by PAARAS and dyed them with cochineal, it's a tiny beetal that's been used for natural red dye for generations).

The process was slow, gentle, and surprisingly therapeutic.

The result is this soft, lilac BOUGAINVILLEA version of my motia

A second life created through care and natural color.

DETAILS:

Made from the tiniest fabric scraps, these delicate white buds come together like pearls with a 10-inch extension dori to adjust the length just the way you like.

Choose from a variety of necklace lengths including choker, collar, princess, matinee, opera, and rope styles. Mix and match with pendants or other accessories to create a unique, versatile look every time. Each piece is designed to be styled your way.
NOTE:
  • This necklace is created to reuse tiny and shredded waste material, which is why they look a bit fuzzy, but they aren't faulty. However, this IMPERFECTION is part of the uniqueness of each piece. It's meant to reflect authenticity and creativity.
  • Wearing four necklaces in the picture. For the full layered look, we recommend ordering two necklaces.

CARE

It all depends on how you take care and how often your wear.

- Keep your jewelry in the fabric bag provided to protect them from dust.
- Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming or doing activities that may expose it to dirt, moisture or harsh chemicals.
- Avoid applying makeup around neck area.
- If it gets dirty gently handwash with mild soap, avoid hard scrubbing. Hang to dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight.
- Be gentle with your ZERO-WASTE pieces. Avoid rough
handling or pulling.

Shipping Time

  • Most of our zero-waste pieces are made to order. These take around 10–15 working days to create and dispatch, depending on the design. 
  • For items that are ready in stock, we typically take 7 working days to process and dispatch your order. 
  • Custom orders may take longer to dispatch. We’ll stay in touch and share an estimated timeline once your order is confirmed. 
  • Once shipped, your order should reach you within 2–4 working days, depending on your location.
